Look outside, and it’s obvious that Summer is over. Summer was thoroughly enjoyed for all it offered. We attended county fairs and rodeos. Also, we picked through our neighbor’s treasures at tons of yard sales. We camped, boated, and floated in the warm (and hot!) sunshine. However, all good things must come to an end, and so has Summer. As we wish that wonderful season a fond good-bye, we take this opportunity to welcome in Autumn and all it’s delights. In case you are lamenting the departure of Summer, we wish to remind you of all we have to look forward to.
Ok, what Do we have to look forward to in Autumn?
First of all, there are the Fall holidays. Halloween and Thanksgiving are the ones that come to mind. Who doesn’t love to get dressed up and parade around the neighborhood demanding candy and treats from all your neighbors? No one! We might have gone trick-or-treating on horseback at one time….
Second, and our favorite, is Thanksgiving. No matter what you are thankful for, everyone can celebrate being thankful for something. How nice that we have a day each year devoted to being thankful?
Third, let’s not forget all the things that harvest season bring for us to do. Corn mazes, canning sessions preserving the bounty from our gardens. Harvest fairs, such as the one going on this weekend and next at Wilson Banner Ranch. There are celebrations of all types to enjoy this transition time in the year. Certainly you should get out and enjoy the brisk weather and breathtaking colors as the leaves change and finally fall off the trees!
Finally, there is the future and the Winter holidays to look forward to and get ready for. Christmas or Hanukkah shopping, home decorating, changing out your wardrobe for all your favorite sweaters and boots.
Cheers to Autumn!
