Here is some history on how this event got started for any of you that don’t know.
When and how did Lewiston’s Hot August Nights event begin?
It all started back in 1987. Radio station CAT-FM 101.5 wanted a fun way to give back to our community. In the past, each year, the radio station gave thousands of dollars or a much-needed piece of equipment to local non-profits. The station came up with the idea to get some artists that we hadn’t heard before. Then bring them to our valley. Finally, to give a concert to raise some money for the non-profits. The event was a huge success. And so a classic car show was added. As the radio station grew, so did Hot August Nights.
Now, the event takes place over three days each August, and draws classic cars and trucks from all over the US to participate. There is a preview showing of the cars Thursday at Rogers Toyota which is open to the public and is free. In addition, there is an open cruise night, a Show and Shine event, and the concert on Saturday night.
You can find information and registration packets on the website listed in the link above. Concert tickets are available at Rosauers, (Lewiston only), GNC, (Lewiston, Moscow and Pullman locations),and Lewis Clark Credit Union Lewiston, Clarkson, and Orofino locations.
Come, enjoy the great cars, hear some fantastic new music, and help support our valley’s non-profits!
Come one, come all!
