This year’s roundup is scheduled for September 5-8th, and “she’s wild”!
Besides being a really fun event for our community, did you know that the Lewiston Roundup donates a portion of their receipts to organizations that benefit our community? Every year? Well, they do! So when you purchase your tickets, not only do you have a fun family outing, but you are contributing to worthy causes in our community! You can click on this link with the Lewiston Roundup website for all the details and for a list of the organizations that they donate to.
More about the Roundup
This is the 84th year of this iconic event, and it is going strong! Tickets can be purchased in advance and at each performance. Starting Tuesday, you can see bull riding, everyone’s favorite, mutton bustin’ (kids riding sheep!), barrel racing, and “Chicks N’ Chaps”. This event gives the ladies a chance for some instruction in some of the rodeo events such as roping, bull riding, and bull fighting.
In addition, you can watch a parade, admire the royalty, listen to free music, and watch cowboys compete in other rodeo events. Friday night is the special night “Tough enough to wear Pink”. “Tough enough to wear Pink” is a super way to support the fight against breast cancer. The Lewiston Roundup Associaton donates $1 for every person who wears pink on September 9th. Imagine if everyone who attends the evening’s performances does wear pink, what the total donation could be!
Family night is Thursday, September 6th. Children under 12 years old are free!
Saturday is the parade which starts at 10:00 AM. and your last chance to see the final performances and the awards. Also, there will be a live band and dancing for free before and after the final performances.
Sounds like a great time! Don’t miss it!
and remember, “She’s Wild!”
