Here comes the Christmas and Hanukkah holidays right around the corner! Are you ready? We all think of shopping, perhaps Black Friday (the day after Thanksgiving), sales, Christmas trees and lights. We are on the move. Seeing more people in the stores, enjoying the spectacular lights in Locomotive Park, attending seasonal functions, singing, and generally enjoying the crisp air and snow (?). We are finding treasures for our loved ones, sending out seasonal letters to update our distant family and friends on the year that has just flown by. Added to that, the days are shorter, less sunlight, more stress. So much to do, so little time!
What a great time to enjoy the holidays!
We believe that all of us can find something to be grateful for, and someone who we would like to remember and celebrate. The holidays are a great time to connect with family and friends. How about nice dinners with family? Or better yet, a holiday get together, or party? Who doesn’t like those “ugly Christmas sweater” parties! Or how about the Christmas concert that the local community choir performs for free?
Something a bit quieter perhaps?
Maybe you prefer sitting by that warm fire in the fireplace or wood stove, or cuddled up with your favorite person and a nice blanket? In addition, there are lots of fun and amusing things to watch on TV, Netflix, or whatever television service you may have. Lots of shows about family ties, people helping others, doing nice things for strangers, making sacrifices for the common good.
The holidays are a great time to reflect on the good things in our lives. And to enjoy the changing weather and good friends. Along with the great seasonal food and beverages and events that mark it as special each year.
We suggest that you find things that bring you joy about this season and celebrate them.
